Talismaani is a collection of contemporary Finnish jewelry, inspired by historical animal talismans used for their magical qualities in ancient Nordic culture.
Throughout Finnish history the bear has been both worshipped and feared. It was believed that parts of the bear possessed magical qualities that would bring luck to its wearer. Teeth, claws and even craniums were used to protect from harm.
The collection is sold at the National Museum of Finland, Helsinki.
